At Kennedy & Perkins we specialize in personal, unhurried Eye Health and Vision Examinations for both children and adults in a comfortable, sterile environment. Each exam is customized by our team of outstanding Board Certified Doctors providing excellence in patient care.

Your examination begins with a thorough review of your overall health, eye health and vision. Next a neurological test is performed by checking your pupils and an eye muscle test is done to evaluate all 12 muscles. Color vision and depth perception tests are performed whenever necessary. A thorough dilated retinal evaluation is performed to assess your eye health. Corneal curvature measurements and microscopic assessment of the front of your eyes are all a part of our unique evaluation. We are always on the lookout for signs of cataracts, infections and allergies. A precise refraction (eyeglass prescription) by our meticulous doctors clearly separates us from our competition.

And last but certainly not least, we perform a glaucoma test that measures your eye pressure. There are unfortunately many eye diseases like glaucoma that have no outward symptoms. This makes it essential that you have your eyes evaluated once a year to be sure no adverse conditions are developing that would jeopardize your continued good eye health and vision. ROUTINE EYE EXAMINATION INCLUDES:

	medical, ocular, and visual histories
	refraction for eyeglass prescriptions
	microscopic assessment of the anterior eye for abnormalities, infection, and complications relative to general eye health
	testing of intraocular pressures for glaucoma
	assessment of posterior retina and optic nerves for abnormalities and/or complications relative to general eye health
	dilation of pupils for more extensive retinal examination is sometimes suggested and/or required

CONTACT LENS EVALUATION INCLUDES:

	measurement of corneal curvatures
	previous contact lens and relevant medical histories
	assessment of patient's expectations and/or factors relative to satisfactory contact lens wear
	microscopic assessment of the anterior eye for complications relative to successful contact lens wear
	professional decision on type of lens best for patient while considering reputation of manufacturer, material, diameter, base curve, and finally powers
	modification of spectacle prescription powers relative to necessary contact lens powers
	microscopic evaluation of actual fit of contact lens on eyes
	assessment of visual results with contact lenses versus eyeglasses
	training patient techniques for proper and safe contact lens insertion and removal
	decision on care routine appropriate for lens material and wearing schedule
	follow-up visits to evaluate corneal condition, vision, comfort, and care of lenses
